El lamento de Penélope
06:06
|
|
||
(English translation below).
II. El lamento de Penélope
¡Dioses ausentes!
II. Penelope's Lament
Absent Gods!
To you I chant this Dorian harmony,
From the deep corners of this landless night.
The arrows of Hyperborea
Have marred my words.
Will Erebus come,
In the waste of the chasm?
Will Gaea come,
Inert Uranus?
Or will the immemorial winds
Stride forth, fathomless?
Daughters of memory,
Yours is my word.

La gran laguna
05:29
|

(English translation below)
III. La gran laguna
De Vasca tierra se marchan
En busca de oro y de Inmortalidad,
Ocaso y deseo se consuman
Al otro lado del mar.
Con estandartes sangrientos
Alzados contra la muerte,
Y pavorosos juramentos
Que aterran al globo inerte,
Alzan sus armas manchadas
De Gloria, los hijos de Europa,
A la danza de Ares consagradas.
El mar gigante a Oriente Galopa.
A probar las manzanas de I∂ún,
A probar que, si eran inmortales,
No morirían, y que si morían,
En combate caerían.
(Solo: Espinosa)
De Vasca tierra se marchan
Poemas antiguos van a buscar.
III. The Great Pond
From Basque lands they sail
Seeking gold and Immortality
Desire and waning accomplished
Across the ocean vast
With bloodied banners
Raised in death's defiance,
And fearsome, terrible vows,
Astonishing the silent globe
Raising their weapons
Stained with Glory, the Sons of Europa,
To the dance of Mars enshrined.
The giant sea gallops Eastwards.
To taste the apples of Idunn,
To prove that immortal,
Death would not meet them, only
In battle would they fall.
(Solo: Espinosa)
From Basque lands they sail,
In search of verses ancestral.

Coeur-de-lion
07:18
|

||
(English translation below).
IV. Coeur-de-lion
¡Gil-Stel! ¿Quién ha borrado el sendero
Que brillaba en lo alto, exento
del tiempo?
¿Dónde está la luz del norte?
¡Patria celeste, aliento duradero!
¿Volverán los astros y su lamento,
A recordar la celestial corte?
(Solo: Fernández)
Violento viento hunde
Nuestra tierra en ancho mar
Mas la luz que siempre alumbra
Al navegante furor infunde.
De amada tierra se marchan
Por vinoso y ancho mar
Mas el fuego que no se consume
Ni el ancho mar apagará.
(Solo: Espinosa)
IV. Coeur-de-lion
With each star that vanishes
From the great concert's vault,
We bury the uncertain breath
Of the disappearing voice.
In the open welkin man may read,
The dire fate that he deserves:
In constellated letters in his soul,
The night sets on the dead god's song
Gil-Stel! Who has destroyed the path
That shone above, beyond the wears
of time? Where is the northern light?
O Heavenly country, enduring breath!
Will the astral lament return,
To recall the celestial court?
(Solo: Fernández)
A violent wind is sinking
Our land into the wide sea,
But the beacon light forever
Lends the wanderer her strength.
They leave beloved lands
Through the wide and wine-dark sea,
But the ancient blaze eternal
The ocean cannot quench.
(Solo: Espinosa)

(English translation below).
V. Condordäle
'Soledad tengo de ti,
Tierra mía do nací
Si muriere sin ventura
Sepúltenme en alta sierra
Porque no estrañe la tierra
Mi cuerpo en la sepultura;
Y en sierra de grande altura
Por ver si veré de allí
Las tierras a do nací.'
Pechos Violáceos de virgen tierra,
Sepulcro silencioso de floridos Cedros
De voces vagas y caminos callados
Do la rivera refresca altos nublados
en vano si el viento no perpetuara su clamor;
¡Que tu enigma estremezca estos montes!
¡Música del rey Rodrick, retumba entre
Los montes! ¡Tus huestes aún claman tu nombre!
¡Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori!
V. Condordäle
'I am lonesome for you,
Land of my birth.
Were I to die in discontentment,
Bury me on a high hill,
That the soil not miss
My body in its tomb;
On a high hill,
So that from there I may see
The land of my birth.'
Violet breasts of virgin land,
Silent tomb of flowering Cedars,
Vague voices and silent ways
where the river cools the cloudy peaks.
Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori!
A poem engraved in my soil, that I would
have writ in vain had not the wind sung it again;
May your mysteries shake these mountains!
Song of King Rodrick, roar through
the cliffs! Your soldiers call your name!
Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori!

VI. Helle gemundon in mod-sefan
Como cruje la corteza
en insaciable silencio,
por el páramo respira
La ligera letanía;
VI. Helle gemundon in mod-sefan
How the bark groans
In insatiable silence.
Through the moor breathes
The lightest litany;
Thus I carry
The vastness of my land.
Would we have understood
The winds' sentence,
Had not the silent symphony
Dressed it?
Where is your crown,
O Glorious queen of the night,
Where your court if not in time,
Suspended through the echo of the woods,
Shaken under unmoving stars?
(Solo: Fernández)
You are encircled by night and bloodless words
Who, dancing, have torn their meaning.
I feel the unforgiving music of the sacred,
I feel the snows of a time long gone.
We are absence, we are terror and storm!
The terrible gods who today once more ride out to war.
We are the great concert of the heights,
Celestial armies on the march.
We are the ineffable, uncertain horror,
Envoys of Biscayne Mars.

(English translation below).
VII. Duin
¡Noche sangrienta!
En tu sombra venceremos.
VII. Duin
With the setting Sun the shadows rise,
The sky shows dire signs.
Returned are the hordes of sunset,
Men of the crescent moon.
The shout of the shadows we beckon!
To return like the morning light,
A reborn cross we wield for sword,
With it will tremble the dark call.
(Solo: Espinosa)
In the ever-shining stars of heaven,
Our longing will endure unforgotten.
O blood-soaked night!
In your darkness we shall triumph.
