lyrics
(English translation below)
me niego a abandonarme
que me recorra el río frío!"
Despreciaste sus tumbas,
al Dios de los muertos
señor de los hambrientos.
Nuestro será el día del juicio,
nuestro el amargo recorrido.
(Solo: Espinosa)
Qué horrible es la primavera del mundo
Vista por los ojos de la muerte,
Negro Abismo, por qué envenenaste nuestra vida?
En la plenitud de la tierra,
vemos sólo las ruinas
Como Húrin, que desafío al Sombrío,
Desde Su trono, terrible castigo
De ver el mundo amargo y hastío.
(Solo: Espinosa)
Aurë Entuluva
Someone would have shown you an old ruin
Ancient lair for the God of the Hungry
They would have told you he knew it all,
Yet you refused to stop following the wind
“Insignificant straying
I was given wisdom
More bitter than any God,
I refuse to abandon myself
May the cold river flow through me!”
You ignored their tombs,
The God of the Dead
Lord of the Hungry.
Ours shall be the Day of Judgment,
Ours the bitter way.
(Lead: Espinosa)
How awful is the world’s spring
Seen through the eyes of Death,
Black Abyss, why have you poisoned our lives?
In the richness of Earth,
We see only ruins
Like Hurin, who challenged the Dark One,
From His throne, terrible punishment,
To see the world bitter and weary
Everyone knows there's a lot of high-quality metal from Finland, and this album is no exception. Its old-school vibe paired with catchy grooves make it very listenable on any occasion, and the awesome songwriting with lots of interesting details keep it far away from ever becoming boring. Outstanding death metal with blackened touches. For those who dig Beherit, Cryptopsy or Demoncy, check out this LP. Much of this LP owes its brilliance to those who went before; that is, this artist does not deny metal traditions. But there is no pre-fabricated art here, as there is a strong, unique vision in all of the songwriting. The riffs all make sense in their given context; there's nothing that seems superfluous. Very highly recommended listening. Look forward to more from Blood Urn! Wow! xhrl_
This is the most personally appealing piece of music I have run into in a long time - from the beautiful lyrics and art and the crushing, non pretentious gorgeous heavy music. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, crushing - are there are other words? Gorgeous, exquisite.... sock4never
PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it.
That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten
