lyrics

(English translation below).

V. Condordäle

'Soledad tengo de ti,
Tierra mía do nací
Si muriere sin ventura
Sepúltenme en alta sierra
Porque no estrañe la tierra
Mi cuerpo en la sepultura;
Y en sierra de grande altura
Por ver si veré de allí
Las tierras a do nací.'

Pechos Violáceos de virgen tierra,
Sepulcro silencioso de floridos Cedros
De voces vagas y caminos callados
Do la rivera refresca altos nublados
¡Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori!

Poema impreso en mi tierra, que habré escrito
en vano si el viento no perpetuara su clamor;
¡Que tu enigma estremezca estos montes!
¡Música del rey Rodrick, retumba entre
Los montes! ¡Tus huestes aún claman tu nombre!
¡Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori!

V. Condordäle

'I am lonesome for you,
Land of my birth.
Were I to die in discontentment,
Bury me on a high hill,
That the soil not miss
My body in its tomb;
On a high hill,
So that from there I may see
The land of my birth.'

Violet breasts of virgin land,
Silent tomb of flowering Cedars,
Vague voices and silent ways
where the river cools the cloudy peaks.
Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori!

A poem engraved in my soil, that I would
have writ in vain had not the wind sung it again;
May your mysteries shake these mountains!
Song of King Rodrick, roar through
the cliffs! Your soldiers call your name!
Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori!
