lyrics

(English translation below)

III. La gran laguna

De Vasca tierra se marchan

En busca de oro y de Inmortalidad,
Ocaso y deseo se consuman
Al otro lado del mar.

Con estandartes sangrientos
Alzados contra la muerte,
Y pavorosos juramentos
Que aterran al globo inerte,

Alzan sus armas manchadas
De Gloria, los hijos de Europa,

A la danza de Ares consagradas.
El mar gigante a Oriente Galopa.

A probar las manzanas de I∂ún,
A probar que, si eran inmortales,
No morirían, y que si morían,
En combate caerían.

(Solo: Espinosa)

De Vasca tierra se marchan
Poemas antiguos van a buscar.

III. The Great Pond

From Basque lands they sail
Seeking gold and Immortality
Desire and waning accomplished
Across the ocean vast

With bloodied banners
Raised in death's defiance,
And fearsome, terrible vows,
Astonishing the silent globe

Raising their weapons
Stained with Glory, the Sons of Europa,
To the dance of Mars enshrined.
The giant sea gallops Eastwards.

To taste the apples of Idunn,
To prove that immortal,
Death would not meet them, only
In battle would they fall.

(Solo: Espinosa)

From Basque lands they sail,
In search of verses ancestral.
